A good few years ago doctors decided that cholesterol was bad for us and gave us heart attacks… not true! Since then eggs have held a stigma that eating too many will ultimately kill us, obviously not helped by the media either.

In truth the body needs and in fact produces cholesterol, it is vital for the creation of cells and hormones. Studies have since found that if we don’t eat cholesterol our bodies will create even more to make up the balance. So, eggs good yes? Definitely unless you have certain hereditary illness, so eat up! Including the yolk; yolks contain, calcium, iron, phosphorus, B6, B12, folate and thiamine as well as having omega 3 healthy fatty acids along with essentials vitamins A, D and E.

I love eggs, I have at least 1 a day. They are tasty, versatile and a great source of lean protein, so make sure you include them in your diet and don’t be afraid to cholesterol; we need it anyway.
